Why am I interning at Networking WA?

I am a third year journalism and public relations double major student at Curtin University. Throughout my time at university I have realised the importance of practical experience and the real difference it makes to employability after graduation. I have previously completed a significant amount work experience in the journalism sector but feel that it is equally as important to put my public relations skills into practise before graduation.

I have previously volunteered at the Perth Fashion Festival in 2010 and was a committee member of the Curtin University Public Relations Student Chapter in 2011. Through working at a large event such as PFF and being hands-on in organising events with Curtin’s PRSC I have realised my passion definitely lies in events management.

I am really excited to be completing an internship with Via Appia Networking WA. I am hoping to learn a lot from working with such a fresh and dynamic team on numerous networking events throughout my time here.
